Roll 97. Rollei ATO 2.1

When I restocked the film shelf in the freezer for the photography tutorial I threw a box of expired Rollei ATO 2.1 film in the shopping basket as well.

Late. Rollei ATO 2.1 at ISO 25 in Rodinal 1+100 for 45min at 20C.

It is not intended for the regular kind of photography. Instead it is usually employed to reproduce drawings and such, if I did my research right. And it is supposed to be developed in a special developer, not in the usual stuff.

Swallow it. Rollei ATO 2.1 at ISO 25 in Rodinal 1+100 for 45min at 20C.

I shot it at ISO 25 and developed it as if it were Rollei Superpan 200, since I was doing a roll of that at the same time anyway.

It didn’t work very well.

Trapped. Rollei ATO 2.1 at ISO 25 in Rodinal 1+100 for 45min at 20C.

The negatives came out very thin, the relatively acceptable results you see above is in no small part thanks to Photoshop magic. Also, there was a long scratch all along the lower edge of the film, and the upper part was grimey. Perhaps I didn’t handle it carefully enough.

Next time I’ll expose at ISO 6, and develop longer. We’ll see what happens.

  2. My experience with ATP 1.1 and Rodinal is expose for ISO 15-20 and develop in Rodinal 1:300 for 12 min with a few very very gentle inversions every minute. I suppose ATP and ATO share similar developing times as starting points.

    Another post I read suggested ISO 25 + 4 stops (i.e. ISO 1,5) with Rodinal 1:300 for 12 min
