Roll 123. Zeiss Ikonta 521 (6×4.5)
I’ve felt a gap, something was missing, a medium format camera that I could take pictures in the 6×4.5cm format with. I pondered getting another Holga, but stumbled over a Zeiss Ikonta 521 on EBay. It looked pretty worn, but I reasoned that I would probably get a couple of usable shutter speeds from it, and if not – I would finally have the donor body for the pinhole project.
The 1/50, 1/100 and 1/300 seem about right. But anything slower than 1/50 is very slow. But still I got three usable shutter speeds (plus bulb) and a wide range of apertures.
It is a very portable camera, once the lens is folded into the body it is about the same size as a wallet full of old receipts. It carries a nice weight without being heavy.
A few of the pictures came out with rather odd framing, since I forgot to correct for parallax on close subjects, and the lens is a bit unforgiving when shooting into the light. But it is a very nice camera.
