Roll 282
Another attempt at pushing Shanghai GP3. 1+100 for 60 minutes in 20C chems, inversion every 20 minutes. The ambient temperature in the room was 22.3C, so I think it must have risen a bit in the tank during the develpment.
Not bad results at all, in my opinion. Not as good as box speed, but usable at least for somewhat evenly lit scenes.
The low amount of keepers on the roll was mostly due to motion blur in the other shots, at 1/15s shutter speed people have to be really still to not be turned into ghosts.
I tried stand dev once with Shanghai film and it was terrible. But this is the strange beauty of this film – every roll is something different ;-))
I saw talk on APUG that the current batch of Shanghai GP3 is pretty good. I’m going through a hundred roll batch I bought a year ago or so, I have no real complaints, sometimes they have taped the film to the backing paper a few centimeters in the wrong direction, so the first and last frames on a roll are uncertain.
When I start running low I’ll get more.
Thank you I’ll try it again !
Great results btw
